The Discipline Lead task is discipline-specific (e.g., project, theory, hull, machinery, electrical HVAC, deck outfitting). The Discipline lead is responsible for design-related matters of his/her own discipline so that the end result fulfils the specification, is cost-efficient, and is in accordance with the rules. Discipline lead is assisted by the other resources of the engineering department and subcontractors assigned to the project. Discipline lead is a member of the project organisation and acts as the main contact between other engineering departments, subcontractor networks and production. In addition, he or she acts as liaison to the Owner, Class and other Authorities.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage cost, schedule, technical completion and integration of defined scope within disciplines grouping of systems or deliverables
• Ensure quality of discipline design products and compliance to specifications
• Key point of contact for discipline within the project
• Progress and cost monitoring and reporting to the Platform Engineering Lead
• Develop and enforce discipline-specific standards
• Checks the design documents together with the System Responsible Engineers

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant degree qualification
• Extensive industry experience in similar position

Expected Salary: $130k – $150k CAD (depending on experience)
