Systems Engineer
A leading marine consultancy specialising in high-speed craft and specialist vessels is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of small crafts and USVs.
This role sits at the intersection of electrical systems, autonomy, and robotics, ensuring seamless integration of complex subsystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage system architecture across electrical, control, and software systems
- Integrate autonomy, sensors, communications, and vessel control systems
- Support design of electrical systems (power distribution, batteries, control hardware)
- Collaborate with software and control engineers on autonomous/robotic systems
- Contribute to control systems (navigation, propulsion, guidance)
- Support testing, validation, and system performance analysis
- Assist with fault detection, resilience, and continuous improvement
- Work cross-functionally and contribute to technical documentation
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Systems, Electrical, Robotics, or Marine Engineering (or similar)
- Experience with complex, multidisciplinary systems
- Knowledge of electrical, control, or embedded systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Desirable: experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or unmanned vehicles (USV/UAV/UGV)
- Marine or vessel integration experience is a plus
