Interior Project Delivery Manager

Marine People are partnered with a UK-based turnkey marine outfitting specialist delivering interior design, manufacture, and installation across naval, cruise, and ferry sectors.

The company provides complete accommodation and public-space packages—including cabins, catering areas, sanitary facilities, medical spaces, and technical compartments—supporting projects from concept design through installation and lifecycle support. Working closely with shipyards and prime contractors, they are recognised for managing complex, regulation-driven interiors under single-contract responsibility across both defence and commercial newbuild and refit programmes.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in leading and coordinating site delivery activities across international locations
  • Take ownership of allocated work scopes following formal handover and approval
  • Assume direct control of specific projects or work packages when required, ensuring contractual, quality, and commercial objectives are achieved
  • Assist with planning and coordination of materials, subcontractors, and site resources to meet programme requirements
  • Provide practical input into installation sequencing, methodology, and cost allowances
  • Monitor workforce levels and productivity, recommending adjustments to maintain programme and budget performance
  • Participate in mobilisation, progress, and completion meetings both on site and remotely
  • Maintain effective communication with site teams and project stakeholders during delivery phases
  • Support enforcement of health, safety, and PPE compliance on all assigned worksites
  • Undertake additional operational duties as requested by senior management

Requirements:

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with marine sectors such as cruise, ferry, defence, or large yacht projects
  • Understanding of multi-trade interior outfitting and installation environments

Technical & Professional Skills:

  • Experience planning and executing interior fit-out works onboard vessels or similar complex projects
  • Competent in standard office and project management software
  • Strong organisational, coordination, and prioritisation capability
  • Confident communicator able to influence site teams and key stakeholders
  • Practical, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused approach

Personal Attributes:

  • Hands-on, proactive attitude suited to a small project delivery team
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and written scopes of work
  • Capable of surveying works and quantifying materials using standard measuring tools

Experience & Additional Criteria:

  • Extensive experience within marine or comparable interior fit-out environments
  • Proven track record managing large multi-trade site teams
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work internationally at short notice
  • Legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom
