We are working with a new European client to appoint a Contract Interior Project Manager for a private superyacht interior refit project in Singapore, Asia.

This is a high-profile refit requiring strong coordination across designers, architects, shipyard teams and specialist suppliers. You will take full ownership of the interior scope, from planning through to final handover, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards.

The contract is expected to run for an initial 3 to 6 months, with accommodation and flights provided. Site visits will form part of the role, alongside office-based planning, reporting and stakeholder management.

This is an opportunity to lead a complex interior refit in Asia, working closely with international stakeholders and delivering a premium result for a private client.

Role responsibilities:

Coordination and Facilitation

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between all stakeholders (architects, designers, shipyard, suppliers).
  • Organise and facilitate regular project meetings to review progress and address challenges.
  • Ensure that each party receives the right information and timing to execute their tasks effectively.
  • Preparation of proper scope of work, working documents and design documents to share with the involved actors involved in the project

Project Scheduling and Timing Management

  • Develop and maintain a detailed project timeline, ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate the coordination of overlapping tasks to ensure that work flows seamlessly across various teams.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate unexpected delays or changes.
  • delivery on site it will be evaluated in a second stage, depending on location and to be handled by a designated company with and extra 5% of handling fees.
  • On site installation and crew handover is done by the team but fees will be evaluated according to vessel location.
  • Project planning, preparation and updating the master plan with monthly updates;
  • Project management supervision to verify that the schedule, quality, manning is adhered to;

Quality Control

  • Definition and discussion with the different contractors of the several scope of works, definition of the overlapping areas, coordination of the works on board between contractors and shipyard
  • Regularly inspect and review the quality of work being completed by the contractors, suppliers, and shipyard.
  • Ensure that all materials and finishes meet the agreed-upon standards and specifications.
  • Address any discrepancies or issues related to quality and work with the relevant parties to resolve them.
  • Planification of contractors visit in their workshops, also with owner representative and Client, for the quality controls, approval and validation of materials, production quality check
  • Approval of shop drawings executed by interior subcontractors (CAD / printed supports)
  • Approval of the materials based on samples, including without limitation woods, veneers, lacquers, marbles, to be used for the fixed interior decoration.
  • Supervision and progress monitoring: helping with drawings, sketches and meetings with the Shipyard or interior outfit contractor as the case may be.
  • Work in office, minutes of meetings.
  • Visits to the Shipyard/subcontractors: 10 x 2 working day visits on site (location tbd) Travel expenses not included

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting

  • Act as the first line of defence when technical or logistical issues arise during the project.
  • Liaise with the shipyard and contractors to find solutions to technical challenges.
  • Ensure that any unexpected complications do not derail the project or affect the quality of work.
  • High level supervision of each phase and each actor involved in the project, and coordination of the different work phases and resources to deliver the work respecting timing, budget and quality
  • Drawings check to verify that they comply with the scopes of work, technical elements, systems, safety compliances

Budget and Cost Management

  • Oversee the budget to ensure that the project remains within financial constraints.
  • Monitor expenditures, including materials, labor, and unforeseen costs, and ensure they are accounted for properly.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to obtain the best prices while maintaining quality standards.
  • Management and control of the bidding phase: requesting and controlling the accuracy of quotes, present the quote to Client and verify that the overall budget is respected along the project

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, contracts, invoices, and change orders.
  • Provide the owner with regular updates, including status reports and timelines, highlighting key milestones and potential risks.
  • Ensure that all legal and contractual requirements are met, with all necessary paperwork in place.

Final Inspection and Handover

  • Oversee the final stages of the refit, ensuring that all aspects of the interior meet the design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct a final inspection with the shipyard and contractors to address any remaining issues.
  • Facilitate the smooth handover of the yacht to the owner, ensuring that they are fully satisfied with the completed work.
  • Creation of reports on a predefined timing to update the relevant stakeholders about progress and quality;
  • Creationof acceptance protocol for each work group to use them during the final inspections
  • Inspection of each finished work group and verification that the quality criteria are respected;
  • Supervision and guidance of contractors to allow them to correct the snags and defects and deliver the final works;
  • Handover to crew and Client as per defined scopes and quality criteria
