Job Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to join our client’s dynamic Commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in generating new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting our ship repair services globally. The role will be based in the Gibraltar office but requires frequent travel to meet potential and existing clients, agents,
and suppliers, and to represent the company at international trade fairs and maritime events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Acquisition & Retention
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the ship repair and marine services market.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Sales Visits & Travel
- Conduct regular overseas and local visits to ship owners, managers, agents, and other key stakeholders.
- Travel to shipyards, ports, and client offices to present service capabilities and secure repair contracts.
- Trade Fairs & Events
- Represent the company at international trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and networking events.
- Coordinate with marketing to prepare promotional materials and presentations for events.
- Sales Strategy & Reporting
- Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with company targets.
- Provide market intelligence, competitor analysis, and regular reports on sales activities and progress.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Commercial Director and internal departments (e.g., operations, technical) to ensure seamless project handovers and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with agents and local representatives in key regions to expand market reach.
Desired Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales or business development within the ship repair, shipbuilding, or marine services industry.
- Strong network of contacts among ship owners, managers, and marine suppliers is highly desirable.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including internationally, often on short notice.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (especially in maritime hubs) are an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Familiarity with ship repair processes, drydocking, and classification requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Relocation package provided
- A competitive salary package will be offered, including a commission-based element linked to sales performance and revenue generation. The structure is designed to reward high achievers and support professional growth in a performance-driven environment.
- Standard working hours apply as per company policy (Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30hrs, Friday 08:00 – 15:30hrs). The position involves significant travel, including outside of regular hours, which is considered part of the role and is factored into the overall salary package.
- Generous annual paid leave of 22 days plus bank holidays (currently 12).
- Eligible for Quarterly Attendance Bonus after 3-month probation period.
- Eligible to join the company pension scheme after 12 months of continuous employment.
