The Production Manager oversees all daily operations and oversight of all current projects and yard employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations (e.g., equipment, manpower, facilities) of the organisation in an effective and productive manner while reporting to the VP of Operations.
- Ensure that all dry-docking services are completed properly (e.g., gangways, shore connection, emergency fire line).
- Assist in the overall planning, development and administration in such areas as capital improvements, building maintenance, repair, and procurement of supplies.
- Lead, develop, oversee, and schedule Supervisors, Workers, and assigned Staff.
- Make certain assigned machines and equipment are operating at maximum performance and optimum utilisation and making recommendations regarding methods and procedures as required.
- Take corrective action in situations requiring immediate intervention, including interpretation of company policies, work rules/instructions and quality issues.
- Coordinate with purchasing and ensure that orders are low-cost, high-quality products for yard operations are delivered on time and that orders match products delivered.
- Consistently review existing operational policies, procedures and practices as related to the yard functionalities and will provide input for improvements and will assist with implementation.
- Perform those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, budget administration, employee safety, organisation goals and objectives and planning, organising integrating and measuring the work performed within the department
Qualifications & Experience
- Extra Consideration: University or College Degree(s), Diploma(s) or certificate(s)
- Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Consideration for education in relevant discipline.
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience (Shipyard Management or Marine Construction)
Salary
$100,000.00 – $125,000.00 (pending experience)
