OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Our client is a newly formed company with significant experience in the offshore and marine pile installation markets. They are developing new equipment to help tackle the challenges of floating offshore wind anchor installation. You will be the technical focal point for all activities related to the design and development of drilling technologies to provide a solution for the installation of drilled and grouted anchor piles for floating offshore wind. From initial method and equipment concepts all the way to detailed fabrication drawings for construction and support with infield testing and operation. This is an opportunity to be technically creative and define the innovation in the first stages while contributing to the energy transition.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Definition of anchor pile installation methods
• Creation of equipment concepts in 2D and 3D
• Creation of detailed design schemes in 2D and 3D
• Production of calculations and analysis to support design concepts
• Production of detailed engineering 2D drawings for fabrication
• Supporting sales and marketing with creation of technical material
• Proactively considering technical improvements to equipment and implement
• Participation in design reviews as required
• Engage with the supply chain to bring designs to reality

OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR:

• Technical qualification in Engineering with some industrial experience (preferably marine/offshore)
• Technical creativity with a desire to solve challenges, by thinking differently
• Proven ability of taking a concept from idea through to execution
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to think practically about concepts and designs
• Entrepreneurial mindset with desire to work in a startup business

LOCATION

Potential for hybrid/remote working with occasional travel to Cornwall/South West office required.

EXPECTED SALARY

£40,000 – £50,000
