As a Technical Superintendent (m/f/d) Cruise, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient technical operation of assigned cruise vessels. You serve as a critical link between ship and shore, providing technical expertise that supports regulatory compliance, optimizes vessel performance, and ensures operational readiness. Through close co-ordination with onboard teams and external stakeholders, you contribute to maintaining high technical standards, controlling costs, and enhancing overall vessel condition and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and contract‑aligned technical management of assigned cruise vessel
  • Monitor machinery and equipment performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance and repair plans, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines
  • Forecast technical requirements, spare parts, and training needs to support maintenance and budget planning
  • Oversee the timely resolution of technical issues and maintain effective communication with stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with vessel certification and implement technical updates in line with regulatory changes
  • Plan, manage, and follow up on dry-dockings and major repair projects to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget execution
  • Prepare, manage, and control technical budgets (OPEX & CAPEX), identifying deviations and cost-saving opportunities
  • Conduct vessel visits, inspections, and internal audits, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up actions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent, or Chief Engineer qualification
  • Extensive sailing experience as a Senior Officer, preferably on cruise vessels, or;
  • shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent in cruise operations

  • Strong knowledge of vessel technical requirements and marine regulations
  • Excellent project management capabilities
  • Strong negotiation and people management skills
  • Effective communication, teamwork, and stakeholder collaboration
  • High level of organization with strong attention to detail
  • Fluency in English
  • Solid PC literacy
