About the role
The Programs Manager delivers maximum commercial returns for the business on given projects while ensuring high customer satisfaction and meeting all customer requirements.
To oversee project execution from planning to delivery and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to company standards.
Key objectives & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Establish a reputable and trusted shipyard through ethical practices and consistent performance.
- Ensure on-time, on-budget vessel construction and full compliance with head contract terms and conditions.
- Provide pre-contract sales support and ensure projects are built to agreed quality standards, sea trials and all handover requirements are completed within expectations.
- Establish & maintain project schedules through strong planning & direction, resource forecasting & planning, materials requisitioning & planning, cost control & analysis.
- Monitor department KPI’s and take appropriate action where variances occur.
- Identify and address all potential project-related legislative or regulatory requirements in accordance with relevant specifications, policies, and procedures, in a timely manner.
- Direct management of programs personnel including recruitment, training, development & performance management
- Programs sub-contractor management (if applicable)
- Implement & support continuous improvement initiatives with quality assurance & compliance.
- Ensure Programs personnel comply with Safety, Health & Environmental policies & procedures; whilst striving to achieve a positive SH&E aware culture throughout the business.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
Essential:
- A Bachelor degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture or Mechanical)
- Extensive demonstrated work experience preferably in an aluminium shipbuilding industry
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- Proven expertise in contract management, cost control, and quality assurance, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications and budgets.
- Has managerial experience

- Chartered Engineer
