Job Overview:

Provide Mechanical Design Engineering input into the design and development of company products and projects, working within well-established Work Packages and Project Plans. Undertake liaison with project teams and subject matter experts on all technical issues relating to system design.

Provide strong input and bring previous knowledge to bear on the design, test, manufacture and in-service support of Mechanical hardware systems, working in both commercial and military environments.

Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer will:

• Be entirely responsible and accountable for their own performance, but will be comfortable seeking support from senior members of staff and their line manager when required.
• Be a team player, with good communication and people skills, and a dynamic and motivated individual.
• Produce sound technical solutions and ensure that they are well defined, optimised and understood by the entire team.
• Work to the correct standards of technical assurance, quality assurance, systems engineering and associated Acceptance criteria.
• Provide input into engineering effort and duration estimates, to ensure that work packages are delivered to quality, time and cost.
• Work to project milestones, with strong focus on the Customer’s requirements.
• Work with Project Managers to support the provision of accurate progress reports, and to escalate emergent risks and issues.
• Share technical knowledge and best practice.
• Be confident and technically credible to their team and peers.
