Role Responsibilities
- Take a growth-oriented approach to help build the use of Systems Engineering Principles for project and product delivery within the business’ Land, Aviation and Marine sectors;
- Plan and support internal Systems Engineering governance and verification activities and be a champion for the introduction of Systems Engineering processes;
- Be proactively involved across the organisation and throughout the Systems Engineering product lifecycle, providing engineering domain knowledge and guidance to institute Systems Engineering best practices from across the group;
- Mentor or lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and technologists in the development, design, and integration of engineering solutions for new or existing systems;
- Provide assurance for the quality and accuracy of engineering project or product outputs throughout the engineering project lifecycle, ranging from requirements definition through to product delivery and in-service support;
- Support the identification and prioritisation of tasks in collaboration with program managers, customers, and internal stakeholders and bring your experience in delivering projects to support the planning, monitoring and delivery of engineering projects to the required quality, time, and cost;
- Influence and inject Systems Engineering principles and processes during early stage solution development to reduce technical risk and maximise customer benefits;
- Maintain effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders including external stakeholders, customers, and other internal technical teams; and
- Act as a Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert, providing thought leadership within the business and communicating Systems Engineering subjects, issues, solutions and risks to all stakeholders (i.e. technical and non-technical stakeholders).
The ideal candidate brings:
- An engineering degree from an accredited Canadian educational institute or from a recognised foreign equivalent;
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in good standing with current registration or immediate eligibility to register in Canada;
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a high-integrity engineering environment;
- Significant experience relevant to Systems Engineering and technical product development and delivery;
- Proven leadership skills through significant experience leading technical teams and delivering technical projects;
- Deep understanding and proven experience in the application of Systems Engineering Principles to the design lifecycle;
- Experience in the physical and functional integration of systems within a Defence environment is considered an asset; and
- Strong demonstrable leadership qualities and excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization and often without direct or formal authority.

Expected Salary:
$108,558 to $156,806 CAD
