Reporting to the Managing Director, the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities for existing and future business growth and developing the clients Australia brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
1.3.1. Develop growth strategies and plans.
1.3.2. Manage and nurture relationships with current and potential future customer.
1.3.3. Source and attend networking events.
1.3.4. Write business proposals and develop bids/tender documentation.
1.3.5. Provide leadership and promote continuous improvement and the development of staff and resources.
1.3.6. Support the Managing Director in the development of opportunities, business strategy and direction.
ACADEMIC & TRADES QUALIFICATIONS
1.4.1. Minimum 5 years relevant Business development role.
1.4.2. Experience in project-based environment preferred.
1.4.3. Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
1.5.1. Must be able to work autonomously, in particular displaying excellent initiative and enthusiasm to manage multiple, concurrent tasks of significant value.
1.5.2. Excellent communication and influencing skills including the ability to prepare written reports, briefings, updates and other documentation within an internal and external environment.
1.5.3. Experience developing bid submissions for large value contracts and leading the tender evaluation process.
1.5.4. Exceptional negotiation skills.
1.5.5. Proven experience working in a Contract driven industry (ideally within Defence) in construction, commercial ship repair, oil and gas/resources or a related industry.
1.5.6. Must be a competent in the use of Information Technology systems.
1.5.7. A high level of numeracy skills, attention to detail and superior analysis ability.
