Position description
- Provide Technical Support for the allocated Power & Propulsion (P&P) sub-systems.
- Responsible for the requirements, acceptance, physical embodiment and safety of the P&P Sub-Systems as allocated.
- Support the Technical Authority (TA) in their role as P&P TA for the design, development and integration of the allocated P&P electrical sub-systems on the platform.
- Support the P&P TA to deliver an affordable, capable ship throughout the Design Definition Phase,
- Support the P&P TA in Product Safety, Key Hazard certification and Environmental activities
- Ensure that P&P (Elect) System engineering meets the Lifecycle Management governance and reporting requirements of the Company and the Authority
Qualifications/Functional Knowledge
- Engineering Degree or equivalent,
- Chartered Engineer (Highly Desirable)
- Strong background in Naval Engineering practices.
- Knowledge of P&P (Elect) System design processes and inter-relationships
- Appreciation of wider Warship platform design and principles of operation.
- Experience of working with within the Defence Industry in a joint working environment.
- Experience of MoD / Customer management and a collaborative working environment
- Knowledge of Lloyds regulations
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the development and integration of Power and Propulsion electrical equipment in the naval environment
